Archeology Part II: Sticks, Stones, and Bones

October 14, 2017 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

- $10.00

Technology: it’s not just about computers! Come and learn about the most ancient forms of technology–tools that helped past people survive and thrive. These tools are made of materials found in nature. Stone that could be shaped into arrowheads, spear points or knives. Sticks rubbed together to make fire. Clay from a riverbank that could be shaped and fired into cooking pots. As part of our workshop, you will become the toolmakers! In the process, you will learn to think like archaeologists who want to learn more about these technologies in order to discover more about the lives of our ancient ancestors. Taught by Dr. Tim Messner of SUNY Potsdam.
