Join Clarkson’s Society of Women Engineers for a hands-on STEM program. Participants will learn some of the basics of aerodynamics and the design process through building their own paper airplanes. The kids will be encouraged to just build a basic paper airplane and test them out to see how far they will fly. It is predicted that first try airplanes will have some trouble. Next, kids will have the opportunity to rebuild a new airplane and try to make their design better. Once they have a working model, small weight will be added to the airplane to test how designs must be changed to be able to withstand the weights.
